My name is Andrea Kuhn Demathieu, and I am passionate about co-creating creative, inspiring, and empowering relationships.
Is it easy? Not always, I can tell you. But I'm happy to invest time, energy, and a lot of humor to continually learn more about this topic.
From Franconia in Germany to France
Already during my school years, I am interested in why and how people create their realities and learn together. Therefore, I decide to study sociology, communication, and andragogy (the science of adult learning) at the University of Bamberg, by the way: most beautiful city in Franconia (Northern Bavaria).
Equipped with my degree and motivated by my love for the French language, I seek an internship in a company in Paris. The City of Love keeps its promise, and I eventually move to France, where I now live with my husband and two children.
A change of universe
Not only am I immersing myself in a different culture, but also into an entirely new world for me: aerospace. I start working in this industry and for 11 years, I explore various positions in human resources: operational HR manager, project manager, change manager, organisation developer... Always in a French-German culture and relationship context.
The space business is a real adventure for me. Collaborating with the brilliant minds of the industry is inspiring, and their passion and talent for such complex products impresses me. Unfortunately, I also experience the “human” difficulties that arise when the focus is too much on technical and financial aspects. My last position as a change manager at Ariane Group allows me to restore relationships and to foster collaboration between teams, which convinces me that my added value lies in boosting groups.
3, 2, 1, Ignition! Starting a new adventure
In 2021, I meet a coach-trainer who reignites my "boosters" and my passion for professional relationships. I then decide to complement my sociology studies with two trainings: co-active coaching and the ORSC™ methodology (Organisation, Relationship & Systems Coaching). These trainings teach me the art and, above all, the posture to accompany individual and collective transformations.
Working for intelligent relationships in organisations
"But Andrea: Sociologist, coach, relationship expert... are you a team therapist or something?" That's a question I'm often asked.
No. Indeed, my profession is not that "standard." I consider myself someone who supports people in developing their awareness, their potential, and interpersonal intelligence. In my opinion, these are life skills that are useful in various areas and distinguish us as humans. While "contactless" and artificial intelligence may seem to make our lives easier, we need real human contact to develop our interpersonal skills, especially our conflict skills (just look at the world...).
With my work, I want to contribute to a world where we become aware of our power and responsibility to collectively shape our private and professional relationships, as well as the relationship with ourselves.
I want to find people who share the same curiosity and who want to take the relationships in their organisations to the next level. Let's discover together what is possible when we dare to ask questions and exchange with great openness and genuine mutual interest!
